Electrical Vehicle Charging Installs

At DR Electrical, we are professional providers of EV Charging installations for industrial and commerical clients across the Liverpool area.

Our service involves installing electric vehicle charging points across large car parks, most commonly used in the industrial and commerical space.

Since the growth of electric vehicles, the demand for this service has increased significantly, helping us build a solid reputation as electricians you can trust to install your EV charging setup.

Why Businesses Are Investing in EV Charging

The reason businesses in Liverpool and the UK are investing in EV charging installations is the government’s plan to require all new cars to be electric by 2035, which is increasing demand exponentially year on year.

As local electricians, we have been helping Liverpool businesses put in place the correct infrastructure so that they’re prepared for the inevitable dominance of electric vehicles in the not too distant future.

Government EV Charging Grants

A common question/request we get is whether EV charging grants are still available for businesses. The short answer to that question is yes, but some are due to expire soon.

The government continues to offer the workplace charging scheme (WCS), which is due to run until 31st March 2027. The funding provides businesses with up to £350 per charging socket, with this figure increasing to £500 per socket from the 1st April 2026. The maximum number of sockets businesses can claim this on is 40 sockets across all sites.

Small and medium-sized businesses can also benefit from a grant for staff or fleet vehicles. The support covers charge point costs and electrical works, with funding of up to £15,000 per property available. This is a popular scheme and is scheduled to run until 31st March 2026, meaning time is running out to apply for this.

EV Charger Installations

The first thing we will do before installing EV charging points is carry out a full site survey of the location to assess where the points should be positioned and how close the nearest electrical supply is. This will enable our team to determine the correct cable routes and whether additional infrastructure is needed to support a safe installation.

Once we have completed all our on-site checks, we will then advise you on the best EV charging solution available, taking into account the available power from the supply and whether any upgrades are needed to ensure the circuit remains stable. Our aim is always to provide an in-depth quote that takes everything into account so you aren’t left with any surprises.

When we have finished installing the chargers, the system will undergo extensive testing and then will be handed over. We make sure all our work is done neatly and tidily with minimal obstructions.

All our EV charging installations are carried out in line with the latest regulations. Please get in touch with our team for more information.

Energy Efficient EV Smart Charging

Smart EV chargers provide control over how and when electric vehicles are charged. Setting up schedules to manage demands on the electric supply is a popular cost-saving measure that also enhances efficiency.

Similar to how a smart heating control system works, the smart charging systems usually have an app that will allow for remote management of the chargers as well as usage tracking. This sort of solution is well suited to businesses that deal with company vehicles and fleets.

Smart EV charging is also useful to mitigate increased usage as the business expands by offering the ability to manage the electrical load and provide long-term support to your charging infrastructure.

EV Charging Solutions for Commercial and Industrial Clients

As electricians for commerical and industrial clients, we know what is required for this type of client. This is why, when discussing options, we always emphasise the importance of being clear on what the demands are from the start. This means properly assessing vehicle usage, access to power and what the long-term demands are for the business. Alongside this information, we would also need to know who the chargers will be accessible to, whether that be company vehicles, fleet operations or public access.

The reason we look to get as much clarity as possible is so we can make sure we are suggesting the correct setup for long term use.

For commerical and industrial spaces, we suggest creating a solution that offers scalability so future expansions don’t include unnecessary additional costs.

Exact charging times can vary by system and power requirements for different vehicles. Choosing a high capacity unit with smart charging is what we recommend to businesses that want fast charging without the unnecessary energy costs.

EV Charging Options

We can install EV chargers from a wide range of leading UK manufacturers. You can choose from several options depending on what’s needed, including universal socket chargers (compatible with multiple vehicles) and tethered chargers (designed to be easy to use).

Ensuring the correct cable routing is set up is one of the main ways to make a safe EV charging station. We make sure all our cabling is neatly secured for a professional finish that can easily withstand high usage.

On commerical and industrial properties, we usually install high-capacity EV chargers that can deliver up to 22kW in power. This helps reduce time to charge and is well-suited to staff car parks.

Along with standard EV charging points, we can also install Pod Point EV charging systems, which offer smart functionality and reliable long-term use, and are a very popular option for businesses that are planning to expand.

EV Charger Maintenance

Keeping your EV charging system running efficiently often involves routine maintenance checks. This is a small investment that can secure long-term efficient performance and savings.

At DR Electrical, we specialise in maintenance and repairs of EV charge systems in Liverpool. Our experienced installers are well versed in how EV charge systems operate and are committed to ensuring that these systems operate long term and remain sustainable throughout.
